My schedule as a homeschooler looks pretty different than most teenagers. I am a junior and have been homeschooled since kindergarten. My average school day looks like me starting my live online class at 7:45 am, this class switches every day.
On Mondays & Wednesdays, it’s English (college English 101 & 203) and on Tuesdays & Thursdays it’s History (college ancient and bible history). This class goes until 9:15 and is a dual credit program through Belhaven University, the potter school.
After I finish that class and grab a cup of coffee I start my self-paced online Chemistry which usually takes me about 1.5 hours to complete.

Anatomy is next and that doesn’t take very long considering I’m basically teaching it to myself and probably won’t get credit for it. I do it because I love it (yes, I am a nerd!).
I spend the rest of the day doing different assignments depending on when its due and what class it’s for.
You are probably wondering what I do for math, well I’m not taking math this year because I have all my math credits to graduate, and why spend time and money on something that I don’t need to graduate and will still have to do in college anyway.
After high school, I want to go to Oklahoma Christian University for Nursing, they have a great nursing program and I love the area it’s located in.

I am a very independent person and do most of my school on my own, apart from my mom proof-reading the occasional essay. Which means I also have to be self-motivated and a good time manager, and being homeschooled has helped me gain both of these important life skills.
As a junior in high school my life is pretty hectic between sports, church activities, and school. Home school gives me more flexibility for travel and other actives, because I can do my school from anywhere!!
I also feel very prepared for college as far as time management and studying tactics; and look forward to getting my degree. I also love homeschool because it has given me the opportunity to get really close to my parents and siblings.

Being a homeschooler has given me many important life skills, opportunities, and relationships that will last a lifetime and I’m incredibly grateful for.
