The first stop on our 5-week trip was Edmond, OK for a college visit for me and to see some good friends. It was so much fun, we went to Wednesday youth group at Edmond Church of Christ to see our friends. We also meet up for dinner with some friends that we haven’t seen in forever, and it was terrific.
I also had my very first college visit at my dream college Oklahoma Christian University! I have wanted to go into nursing for as long as I can remember, and this school has a top-notch nursing program. This post is just me just telling you all about my experiences!
My tour was so much fun, and I could definitely see myself going to this school. We started at 10:45 and met my admissions guide; she was absolutely amazing and so sweet. At 11, we went to chapel, which was super exciting; it was a debate about homeschooling, which is, of course, interesting for me.
After that, we met up with a student guide who showed us all around the campus. He gave us a lot of background for each building and the classes.
Next, we went to the cafeteria for lunch; OC just built a new and improved cafeteria. The food was absolutely amazing, and they had a couple different options. Right after that, we got to go see the dorms and all the living spaces.
After that, we stopped at the Brew, which is the campus coffee shop, and got some lattes; next, we went to the nursing facility, which was my favorite part. We got to sit down with one of the professors and dive into what the program would look like.
We also were able to see their newly updated simulation labs; these new facilities have dummies that breathe, bleed, etc. I got so excited when I saw these labs that have fantastic equipment that mimics hospitals.
It was amazing getting to see this school that I have heard so much about. I’m going to be thinking and praying about college decisions, and I’m definitely grateful that I have a whole year to think about it 🙂
I loved getting to see what my future may look like, and I am beyond excited to see what God does in the years to come.
