Why I Tried CrossFit

I love seeing people’s reactions when I say I do CrossFit; their eyes usually get wide, and they usually just say, “wow, that’s crazy.” I started CrossFit about 2 & ½ years ago, and I’m so glad I did; my mom talked me into going, and I was really nervous.

CrossFit doesn’t have to be big and scary, I scaled most of the workouts until I built up my strength. Though I still scale some exercises, I’ve built up my strength and can lift more and more!

The weird thing about CrossFit is it’s addictive, you feel so good and accomplished. I love watching my body get stronger and watch what it can do. Some of my favorite lifts are, hang cleans, deadlifts, and back squats.

CrossFit has helped get me into shape for my sports (Cross country & Tennis), seeing my growth in body and how it performs in my activities.

Teens Trying CrossFit

I think all teens should try CrossFit for three reasons. One reason is that it helps start a foundation for a healthy life, as teenagers, we can begin healthy habits that can last a lifetime.

Building that strength early can help kick start a life of exercise. A second reason it helps create a drive to do hard things and believing in yourself.

Motivation in all aspects of life

When you complete a hard workout, it helps build confidence and an attitude of motivation that transfers to all aspects of life.

A third reason is it’s fun!! It’s incredible to watch yourself build strength and complete challenging workouts, it’s a great way to start your day off right.

I absolutely love CrossFit building strength, endurance, and pushing myself to be better.
